You can burn the wood in a firepit, chiminea, or solo stove. You can safely burn pinon wood like any other type of firewood. For us, we like using a chiminea! Our is small and portable. We can quickly bring it out to our backyard and the chiminea burns the wood easily and does not release a lot of smoke. It is also really visually appealing!

Is it as safe as burning regular firewood?

Yes, pinon wood is one of the most dense softwoods so it burns slowly. The wood is clean burning, easy to light, puts out heat, burns long and does not produces a lot of ash. However, like all softwoods it is best to burn outside because it can produce more smoke than regular firewood! We do not recommend burning it inside or using it to cook with.
